Watch: Bunch of Guys Perform “And I’m Telling You I’m Not Going”

This year’s Broadway Backwards included a roof-raising rendition of “And I’m Telling You I’m Not Going,” performed by Tituss Burgess. To set up this iconic song, made famous onstage by Jennifer Holiday and on film by Jennifer Hudson, Burgess was joined by Jamie Cepero, Steven Cutts, Miles Johnson, Rashad Naylor, Brandon Pearson and Dennis Stowe as Lorelle, James Thunder Earley, Curtis, Michelle, CC and Deena, respectively.

Broadway Backwards, the once-a-year celebration of the LGBT community, brought down the house March 18, 2013, while raising a record-setting $347,060 to benefit Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS and The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Community Center.

I didn’t know who Xavier Dolan was before OMG Blog featured him today. The openly gay 21-year-old actor and director hailing from Montreal has acted in  Les amours Imaginaires, J’ai Tué ma Mère and as the Director of Laurence Anyways. Now I know he’s adorably cute and creative. All I need is a ticket to Montreal. Yummy!

Watch: Russian Gay Activist Beaten By Neo-Nazi In Front of Reporters


The capital city of the Komi Republic in Russia banned the city’s gay pride parade, due to take place on 31 March. After the cancellation, the event’s organizer Artem Kalinin, was beat up the leader of a neo-Nazi group. Via Pink News:

On the same day as the cancellation, the gay pride organiser and chair of the local LGBT group, Artem Kalinin, was physically attacked by the leader of a neo-Nazi group in Syktyvkar.

In front of journalists – who caught the attack on camera – Alex Kolegov beat Kalinin. This worsened when gay activist Kalinin called Kolegov a ‘Nazi.’

However, Kalinin is not deterred by the attack.

“This incident will not change my decision” said Kalinin. “We are going to hold pride in spite of everything.”

He and several witnesses reported the attack and death threats, but the police made no arrest.

Time has declared that “gay marriage already won” with two covers depicting same-sex couples kissing. Cue right wing nut reactions of disgust that those poor fellows are going to give each other beard burn.
