Recycle Please: ‘The Blue Lagoon’ Coming Back With Hot Aussie Brenton Thwaites

In the case of recycling a film one too many times, Hollywood is reviving The Blue Lagoon franchise. Via Dark Horizons:

Brenton Thwaites and Indiana Evans, two young actors from the Aussie soap “Home and Away”, have been cast in the lead roles in Lifetime’s contemporary remake of “The Blue Lagoon” says Deadline.

Based on the novel by Henry De Vere Stacpoole, Thwaites and Evans will play Dane and Emma, a boy and a girl marooned on a tropical island where they grow up together, fall in love and discover sexuality.

Filming is slated to begin this month in Puerto Rico. Several adaptations have happened over the years, most famously the 1980 film and its 1991 sequel which made launched the careers of young actresses Brooke Shields and Milla Jovovich (the guys on the other hand didn’t fare as well).

Can’t wait to see this hottie in a loin cloth. Since one of my first boy crushes was Christopher Atkins, I hope a new generation of young teens enjoy the scenery
