While we celebrate Betty White’s birthday, the bigots are still claiming they are the oppressed minority: Tea Party Congressman: Christians Are “Greatest Minority Under Assault Today”.
A freshman Tea Party Congressman, Tim Scott (R-SC), yesterday told supporters at a Tea Party rally that Christians are the “greatest minority under attack today.” Three out of every four Americans identify as some form of Christian, and in Scott’s home state of South Carolina, that figure is even higher.
Representative Scott also declared he was doing nothing for the American people, saying, ”The only thing we really have on our minds is beating Barack Obama in 2012,” adding that he may not attend the State of the Union address next week.
“The only way to get it done is for us to run through this primary process and be ready for the war of the centuries beginning in September,” Scott said, according to a report in Patch. “Make no mistake, what we’re doing right now is called pre-season. Get ready for the rumble.”
Meanwhile, Anti-gay hate groups protest SPLC for calling them anti-gay hate groups. About a dozen people showed up to support hate-group leader Peter LaBarbara and African-American pastors who gathered at the Southern Poverty Law Center to protest and hold a press conference:
“The SPLC has moved from monitoring actual hate groups like the KKK and neo-Nazis to slandering mainstream Christian organizations with that very same hate group label,” said Matt Barber of the Liberty Counsel, affiliated with Jerry Falwell’s Liberty University.
“By extension, the SPLC is smearing billions of Christians and Jews worldwide as haters simply because they embrace the traditional Judeo-Christian ethics,” Barber said.
Finally, David Pakman talks with AFA’s Bryan Fischer who spends a bunch of the interview talking about “lesbian diseases.” As you recall, Fischer is the radio mouthpiece of a certified hate group who claims Hitler was gay and the Nazi party started in a gay bar, wants homosexuality criminalized and calls it a “deathstyle”, believes being gay is a choice, and has alleged that gay soldiers will commit hate crimes against Christian soldiers.
