Focus on Family Believes That Gay Rights is Destroying our Judiciary (VIDEO)

And I thought that we only caused natural disasters. From Right Wing Watch:

Focus on the Family’s Stuart Shepard, along with the organization’s policy analyst Ashley Horne, earlier this week released an Orwellian dramatization on how legal victories on behalf of marriage equality supporters threaten the country’s legal system.

Shepard claims that Judge Vaughn Walker, who was appointed by President George H. W. Bush, should not have presided over the case on the constitutionality of Proposition 8 because he’s gay. Using Shepard’s logic, straight judges should consequently never rule on cases involving straight couples and white judges should recuse themselves from cases involving white people. He goes on to berate the Obama administration for refusing to defend the unconstitutional Defense of Marriage Act, and King & Spalding’s decision to decline the House of Representative’s offer to defend DOMA.

“Leaving marriage defenseless threatens the entire nation,” Shepard says, asking, “Is influencing the outcome really worth the price we all pay?”
