In the spirit of Born This Way, a new site is out there for all of you high school fag hags (and you didn’t even know it at the time) who want to share those fond memories of prom dress fashion tips and excuses of why your boyfriend didn’t want to go parking. My High School Boyfriend Was Gay is a great place to upload that high school lover putting on your eye liner or shopping with you in the mall.
This site is devoted to our most embarrassing, hilarious, tragic, heinous and stylish memories. Do you have a picture of you and your ex-boyfriend who was obviously gay? Or might as well have been gay? Does he just look real gay in this one hilarious photo? C’mon, remember that gross picture of you and your junior prom date when you decided to wear your hair down?
My own submission is below (circa May 1984):
Before we hit the 1984 Waterville High School prom, my date Sarah and I dined with friends at the parent’s house of one of my friends. About 18 Whiskey Sours later, I loaded Sarah into my 1982 Pontiac Firebird (the dress went over her head when she sat in it) and somehow drove to the prom. Ah, memories. Unfortunately, Sarah passed away a number of years ago in a horrific motorcycle crash. Love you, Sarah!
