Today’s gratuitous pic of Jared Leto

jared I don’t know…part of me has always found Jared Leto hot. Now that he’s a full-time rocker, I find him scrumptious. It’s my love of bad boys, I guess.

My Many Faces of “I Don’t Care”

Photo on 2010-04-27 at 13.29 Photo on 2010-04-26 at 11.23 #2 Photo on 2010-02-18 at 12.09 One thing is for sure. I certainly change my look (a bunch). Currently, I am mohawk’d – which was partially not by choice but that’s another blog post and too dirty to post here. I guess I’m over my mid-age crisis which involved gaying myself into conformity. After almost ten years of being out of the closet, I do what I want and have stopped worrying what others think. It’s taking me 44 years to get here, and I have to say that it’s a good place to be.

After four years back in San Francisco, I have a GREAT relationship where I can be myself and excellent friends for whom I care deeply. That’s not so bad. I guess that now I am settling into my late middle-age / early senior years, I have fallen into a groove. One that I like.

Hence, I have written less about my life on DanNation since I’m living my real life. Onward we go…

Arizona: Logan’s Run Come True

It looks like if you are brown in color, you’d better have “your papers.” (Sounds kinda Nazi, doesn’t it?). Looks like Sarah Palin spent no time getting to Arizona to congratulate Jan Brewer on her new legislation. I just wonder where the Tea Baggers are – isn’t this an unwelcome intrusion of government into our lives. Ooops. I forget. It’s okay if it involves minorities.

Take a listen to Rachel Maddow’s analysis of where this legislation originated. You might be surprised (or not).

A Song for Constance

“Constant” is an original song written and performed by Sean Chapin dedicated to Constance McMillan and every high school student gay and straight who wishes to take whoever they would like to their prom.

LYRICS:

One night to remember
One moment of love
One touch of forever
It’s like it was only yesterday
Tonight is upon us
Your moment has come
Before you go out there
I need you to promise me that you’ll

Take it all in because it is so magical to
Open your eyes and see how she is beautiful no
Matter what happens know that you are wonderful
Whenever you need to call me I will be here

When the world’s on the run
Just remember you’re the one
Constant in the sun
Your life has just begun

One shot to remember
One picture of love
One portrait of wonder
You two make a terrific couple
This evening’s upon us
Your time has come
One thing I forgot to
To mention is that I want you to

Cherish her like I would cherish your mother and you’ll
Treasure the seconds when you are together and no
Matter what happens know that you are wonderful
Whenever you need to call me I will be here

When the world’s on the run
Just remember you’re the one
Constant in the sun
Your life has just begun
When the world weighs a ton
And your soul has come undone
Soon you’ll have your fun
Your life has just begun

When the world is on the run, ooooh
You’re the constant in the sun, ooooh
When your soul has come undone, ooooh
Your whole life has just begun, ooooh
When the world is on the run, ooooh
You’re the constant in the sun, ooooh
Just remember you’re the one, ooooh

Come out and see how everyone is happy for you
Come out and help us share the joy and laughter and no
Matter what happens know that you are wonderful
Whenever you need to call me I will be here

When the world’s on the run
Just remember you’re the one
Constant in the sun
Your life has just begun
When the world weighs a ton
And your soul has come undone
Soon you’ll have your fun
Your life has just begun

Today’s Trending Gay on Facebook: Matthew…Lady Gaga…Lady Gaga…Matthew

Dear Lady Gaga, when I was young my only two wishes in life were winning Olympic Gold and meeting you. I’ll bring the medal to the concert tonight to show you if you’d like. I’ll be the one dressed as a unicorn. Love Matt Xx

Matthew, too “shy” to use his name to get backstage, went the entire show without meeting her. Matt – wish I could help. I’d be happy to adjust your costume, though.

This disgusts me…

constance Apparently, Constance McMillen‘s classmates (who held an alternative prom on Friday night and sent her to another location with other “disabled” students) have felt the need to whine about Constance ruining their prom through a new Facebook group: Constance Quit Yer Crying. Fortunately, many have joined the group to yell tirades at the bigot high school kids behind the page. Unfortunately, if you scroll back to the beginning of the comments, you will see Constance’s classmates blaming her for being an “attention” whore and that “gays need to be quiet.” Just love the South!

Here’s a screen grab of one of the high school student’s parents responding to her Facebook post about the “secret prom.”
