I’ve received many emails about the upcoming San Francisco Gay Blogger Summit and all I have to say is that I have no information to share except for the date: Friday, June 22, 2007 — the first day of Gay Pride Weekend in San Francisco, 2007. A crew of us here in San Francisco will reserve a venue, most likely a soon-to-be-decided upon bar that is opening in SOMA (South of Market). I would hope that the event starts at around 9pm and proceed until bars close at 2am. I will keep you posted on more details, but if you haven’t already sent me an email to add yourself to the invite list please do so or leave your email in the comment section of this post. If you attended our party last year in my SOMA loft, you are automatically on the list. I will use an evite to let you know more details, available in the next month or so.
Some ideas that I have for the event (and weekend) may require some participation from all of you:
- Is anyone interested in designing Tshirts for the event? Preferably sleeveless in a fuscia or pink. Let me know…
- Is anyone interested in designing a marketing logo and add? Perhaps the design could tie in to the Tshirt idea…
- Should we raise $ for some cause as a part of the event, perhaps with donations or other means?
Other ideas and recommendations are welcomed. I look forward to your all attending, so please let me know.
Many have asked me where to stay, etc., for the event. Many of us who live here have already handed over our guest rooms to friends, so I would recommend checking out Travelocity or Hotwire to see what deals exist. There are not many hotels in the Castro District, but several B&Bs including The Parker Guest House. I would book sooner than later — it will surely fill up for Pride Weekend.
Can’t wait to see you all — I just wanted to provide an update.
…the most stylish man in the crowd, DanNation!
Our friends Tom and Gabe, Donnan, and I spent Oscar night at a fundraiser for AIDS here in San Francisco. If I must say so myself, we looked good. By the way, our friends aren’t the half nekked boys above. They are in this photo…
Yours truly had way too much wine and cocktails, and we could barely hear the audio of the piped in broadcast, but we certainly had a fun and festive evening.
And what is a very Gay event without drag queens? The party was the annual Oscar bash thrown by the Academy of Friends which raised over $6 million to fight AIDS. It was fun to walk the red carpet, see just about every queer in town, and taste fine wines from all over Napa and Sonoma.
Of course, I woke up with a terrible hangover. It could have been worse — I could have woken up with one of those drag queens!
We do look good…
Au Canada…Jeff Skybar joins us from the Great White North, as Jimmi and I are finally back discussing:

I just felt this one in my office. You always know when it is an earthquake, even when you’re sitting in a 19-story office building in downtown San Francisco. This was posted within 1 minute — gotta love the ‘net!

….with a new show (finally)…! Join us tomorrow night in the podcast world of Jimmi and Dan!
Large Tony….the shirt is signed and on the way to the next blogger…!
Chad and I were hanging out the other night and started to reminisce about Chuck Barris and his shows of the 1970s — “The Gong Show” and “$1.98 Beauty Contest.” We found these clips that reinforce what a genius Chuck Barris really was. I’m not sure if he was a CIA agent on the side (he probably could have pulled it off), but if he was and STILL pulled this off, he deserves praise. Enjoy….
And these came years before “American Idol”!
…ago, a handsome lad I met took me home on Saturday night. The next morning, he took me ice skating and later cooked me dinner. And, he stayed on Sunday night. By that Wednesday, he was coming on a gay cruise with me and by November, he had moved to San Francisco.
We just returned from our anniversary weekend trip to Sonoma where we drank champagne, soaked in mineral pools, and had massages. And, we are still going strong one year later.
Happy Anniversary, sweetheart! I love you!
As I walked through the door yesterday, a voice said “Get your clothes off and get into the tub.” As a Valentine’s Day present, Donnan had run me a warm bathtub replete with rose pedals, champagne, and caviar. It sure is nice to finally have a great boyfriend for Valentine’s Day. The dozen roses I had sent him adorned the dining room table along with the beginnings of a home-cooked meal. And, yes, we totally cheated on our South Beach diet.
After dinner, we journeyed to Twin Peaks to view the City at night. Unfortunately, the gang-bangers had taken over the parking lot so we headed out to Ocean Beach where many bonfires were blazing. As we stood at an abandonned fire drinking our glasses of wine, the ranger drove up and asked if the empty wine bottle sitting on the sand was ours. As we stood there holding our full wine glasses, I responded as I would have in high school: “No, sir — I have no idea how it got there but I’m as concerned as you are about it — we’ll throw it away.” He smirked as he drove away to bust the people at the next fire down the beach instead. Sometimes being back in high school would be the way to go…
I’ve been having a really shitty week. I don’t know if I’m making it moreso by continually saying it, but I do know that I feel depressed. So much so that I cancelled tonight’s taping of Jimmi’s and my podcast. I just don’t have the energy to create something so complex this evening, so this post will have to do. These photos remind me of a great evening in a crummy week — but, I know it will get better. I wonder if the power of the mind can resolve the awful feelings that I am feeling. Maybe I should find another therapist. Someone who can draw my pent up bad feelings out and help me to spring back to normal.
But, a warm bath when you get home from work certainly helps…
And, what is it about pictures of myself in a tub on this silly blog? Hmmmm…..
Sorry I’ve been lax with posting – it’s been a really busy week. We don’t have much planned for Valentine’s Day as we are going to Napa this weekend for our first anniversary – that is, if we can get a dogsitter…(anyone need a job).
HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY ALL MY GREAT BLOGGER BUDS!
